Vicejar

Privacy

Effective 30 September 2026

Vicejar is made by Benjamin Gadbaw, an independent developer in San Francisco. This page says what the app stores, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What Vicejar stores

Vicejar does not ask for your email, phone number, contacts, location, or card details. There is no sign-up. The app makes an account key on your phone and keeps it in your iCloud Keychain.

Money

Vicejar keeps count of what people owe. It never holds or moves money. When you pay a tab, the payment happens in the app you pick (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Messages, your bank) under that company's terms and privacy policy. Vicejar only records that you said you paid and that the keeper confirmed.

Who can see what

Vicejar has no ads, no analytics trackers, and no third-party code in the app. Your information is not sold or shared for advertising.

Deleting

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my account. Your account, name, payment usernames and notification address are deleted right away. In jars with other people, your past catches stay on the jar's record under your first name so the other members' totals remain correct. A jar's keeper can delete the jar, which deletes its catches and tabs for everyone.

Children

Vicejar is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. A parent who keeps a jar can add a child by first name without the child having the app or an account.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above changes and the app's update notes say so. Questions or requests: support@gadbaw.com.
